Midtown Madness 2 -page 2-
Amount of Races
There are 2 cruise maps that come with the game: London and Chicago. There are 20 Blitz maps, 24 Checkpoints, and 20 Circuit Races. Each map has 10 Blitz Races, 12 Checkpoints, and 10 Circuit Races. A lot of the races are similar to one another, but they still feel different on the different maps.
Using the Map
The graphics overall in Midtown Madness 2 are very good, but are not a whole lot different from the ones in Midtown Madness. The map looks different, and I liked the way that it looked in the original Midtown Madness better. This game like the original helps younger children learn to read maps better. When you are playing Cops and robbers in a multiplayer game, the map is a big part. You have to follow the arrow, or try to find a better way to get there before your opponent.
Multiplayer is Great
The multiplayer is still excellent in Midtown Madness. 2. When you play multiplayer, all the single player modes are available, and you also get one extra (my favorite): COPS AND ROBBERS. This is the same in the original game. In a cops and robbers race, you choose a free for all, Cops vs. Robbers, or Robber Teams. In these different modes, you choose if you want a free for all, real cops versus robbers game, or a game in which there are two robber teams that play against a computer controlled cop team. In order to capture gold, you run your car through a gold symbol and than deliver it back through a checkpoint like banner which is either the bank (for cops) or the hideout (for robbers.) You can set a game limit that limits either your time or points (I like to play without a limit.) In all of these multiplayer modes, you can change the weather settings. I was a little upset that there were no new multiplayer modes in the game, but Cops and Robbers is still a ton of fun.
Cars in the Game
Some cars in the game include: Mini Cooper Classic, VW New Beetle, London Cab, Cadillac Eldorado, Ford F-350, Panoz Roadster, Double Decker Bus, VW New Beetle Dune, VW New Beetle RSI, and the Light Tactical Vehicle. All of these cars are really cool, and it is a lot of fun to drive around in London and San Francisco with them.
Overall
Overall, Midtown Madness 2 is a great game that has some new things from the original, but is not a totally new experience. If you enjoyed the previous game, you will definitely love this game.
