When I first played No One Lives Forever, I really thought I had found my soul mate. Almost everything about this game is perfect.
You are Cate Archer; a smart, pretty, young juvenile delinquent. You are an ex-thief who is now an operative, working for a top secret agency called UNITY. Half of their of their operatives start to disappear very mysteriously, so they decide to put away their differences with you and give you a break. Throughout the game, the plot is presented through some pretty amazing cut-scenes with excellent voice acting and character animation. The plot will take many twists and turns, so be prepared for some interesting.
Not only is the plot going to keep you hooked, the graphics will too. Everything looks stunning. The wintery scenes of the wintery Alps are breath taking, German nightclubs are fantastic, and even the moon night clubs provide fun for everybody. Whenever you are in a lone winterscape or an area with a lot of people, there will no clipping or quirky character moves what so ever. All animations are very clean, and there are no weird walking into wall bugs, or having arms or legs from dead bodies extend through walls.
I really enjoyed the music of the game, because of it's '60s beat and style. Depending on your activity or level of action, the music can be really rapid or produce a clam mood. No matter what, you can be listening with pleasure to the included music CD that accompanies the game.
Now don't get too much into the music. The sharp enemy AI will stop you dead in your tracks if you let it. Enemies will notice dead bodies, stray gun shots, and don't do anything incredibly stupid in a gun fight. This makes the game harder for Cate, but don't worry. She will be equipped with some sick weapons to make sure she gets the job done.
There are lots of cool gadgets that are disguised as ordinary everyday tools; like the explosive lipstick, the perfume gas, barrette lock pick, and the incredible robotic poodle to distract guard dogs. You will have tons of fun with these gadgets, but you can also lay down the gunfire action with the awesome weapons included in the game. This includes the Hampton Carbine, Braun 9mm Parabellum, Petri .38, your handy Shepard Arms P38, laser guns, M79 grenade launchers, the Gordon 9mm SMG, the Sportsman EX crossbow, and many more.
You will get to use these weapons/gadgets in awesome locations, but also in awesome conditions.
You will jump out of an airplane without a parachute to kill some guards, scuba dive through a wrecked ship to retrieve documents, and even play sniper to protect a US ambassador. In some missions, you will be able to use a motorcycle and even a snow mobile! Throughout the 50 plus missions, you will never get bored.
To top it all off, there is multiplayer. There are 4 deathmatch maps, and 6 team maps. Everything is great, but the single player experience is still a lot better then the multiplayer.
In all, No One Lives Forever is one of the funnest games I have every played, and I highly recommend buying it.
