Sacred -page 2-

Sacred

Ok, those probably aren't their real names but it's a good description of their jobs. Smiths can take most weapons and imbue them with certain powers, making these men few and far between but very popular. Merchants are pretty obvious: men and women with whom you trade weapons and armor you find for better items or just gold. Rune Men (no laughing) are a vital part of the game if used right. What are you supposed to do with runes you find that aren't useable by your class? Come on down to the rune man, a really nice guy who will collect what you find and trade them to runes you can use! Last but not least, the horse trader, not surprisingly, sells horses. Aside from giving bonus defense, horses really quicken your movement speed. No more running like mad and going nowhere, it is the age of the horse in Sacred.

The Quests are Quintessential

After all that talk about characters and skills and stuff, its time to talk about the best part of the game: the quests. The most stunning part of the quest aspect of the game is the wide array of different quests offered. Aside from the main quests that make up the whole story line, there are hundreds of different side quests offered throughout the lands of Ancaria. I really liked this because it made sure the game never became boring; as soon as it looked like the main quest was done, I saw a couple more little odds and ends that I was more than happy to clean up. Surprisingly, the quests are anything but the same. Ranging from saving cows to killing demons and ghosts to dueling other humans, the side quests were varied and exciting. I really don't want to delve more into the story line for fear of ruining the game, but I will tell you that once you start the missions, it's hard to stop.

Great All Around

So the game is great, but how about the mechanics?

Sacred

Even here, Sacred has wowed me again, with gorgeous graphics, crystal clear cinematics, a solid storyline and excellent patches and technical support. Think about the best fantasy game you have ever played, and now multiply the graphics of that by 20. Need I say more?

Don't Forget- There is Multiplayer!

With most amazing first person computer games comes an awesome multiplayer function as well. Sacred is no exception to this, with three different types of online play available to any gamer. These include hack n' slash- you and any allies fight through hordes of enemies to complete the task; cooperative- allies and you work together to defeat all enemies (similar to hack); and PvP- fight monsters and even fight other players. All the online games combine fluid gameplay and beautiful everything to bring a stellar game to you and your friends. The channels are clean, well laid out, almost never spammed, and new versions always keep the game at the top where it should be.

So is There... Anything... Wrong?!

After I first saw the box, I was almost in a trance to get the game. I first played it, and I didn't think anything was wrong. In fact, I almost couldn't believe that anything COULD be wrong. Happily, I guessed correctly. I really do not know what is bad about this game. I thought about it while working, eating and sleeping, and I really don't know what's wrong. Sometimes, the game can seem sort of slow, but either that's because it's loading its awesome graphics or you just haven't stopped playing in 3 days.

Overall

If you love fantasy games, RPG's, or just maybe like these games a little, I cannot stress how much you should go buy Sacred. If you don't like these games or have never tried them, do it with Sacred. Encore has wowed us again, and this game could be the number one for a long time. And for those of you who think this game sucks… seek help immediately.
