Logitech Cordless Presenter -page 2-
Presenter Mode
When using the mouse in “presenter mode,” I was able to change slides from over an area of 30 feet away, and navigate back and forth through the slides with ease. There is a laser pointer button that goes along the bottom of the unit, and when held down, produces a tiny laser that can be used to point out important details to your audience. I tried the device with PowerPoint on both my Mac and PC, and in both tests, the Cordless Presenter performed yet again without issue. This is definitely a good idea if you are really serious about presentations… you will never have to return to the mouse again.
Mouse Mode
In “mouse mode,” the Cordless Presenter works like your typical cordless mouse. The only thing is that the Cordless Presenter is not like your typical mouse… it has a completely different shape and layout. When using the Cordless Presenter as a handheld presentation device, it fits snuggly in your hand without issue. The only thing that may occasionally happen is your hand may slip and cause the laser to go off. You will get used to this. In mouse mode, however, the device feels too long. You will probably use your second and third finger to operate the left and right click buttons, which is also a bit weird, considering they are meant for presentations. This mouse is not meant for long term use… if you are traveling and do not want to bring an extra mouse, the Cordless Presenter in mouse mode will function fine.
After awhile, you may even get used to its odd shape.
Bundled with the Cordless Presenter
The Cordless Presenter comes bundled with Logitech Mouseware software, so you can edit all of the buttons on the device to your liking. This creates setup and configuration a synch.
Overall
The Logitech Cordless Presenter retails for $200… that is the only true downside. If you are serious enough to get it to improve your presentations, it is assumed you have this money to spare. Keep in mind that the Logitech Cordless Presenter will not be the best mouse money can buy; but it sure does a damn good job at trying.
