A huge single player mode awaits you in the new installment of Deus EX, just get ready to put up a fight.
Perhaps the best feature of the single player game is the huge amount of things you can do. You are basically free in the world of Alex; you can do anything you want. Of course there are objectives you should complete, but the rest is up to you. There are tons of places you can go to, tons of different paths to take. The different factions in the game range from the World Trade Organization to Pequod's Coffee. That's right… you can ally with a coffee place. As you encounter different members of each of the seven organizations, it's up to you to decide which you would like to follow. Some of your orders will be conflicting… you will be told to visit the Order even though Tarsus forbids it, while another of your objectives is to go visit some Tarsus facility. Since there are so many options, it's a free world. That is probably the best part of Deus EX: Invisible War.
Considering how free these worlds are, you can expect that there will be great graphics to go along with it. Boy, are you right. Characters are detailed, maps are splendid, and everything is visually pleasing. You really can't go wrong with the graphics of this game… they are amazing.
Even though the game is huge, it's a bit hard to start out in the beginning. Especially since you are only equipped with a lousy pistol. At times, I would encounter a group of local thugs that could just kick the crap out of me with shotguns. That wasn't fun…
Just like graphics, character AI is very good. Once an enemy hears you, he/she will instantly start to attack. They will even use good tactical commands, like running away when they have no chance or ducking for cover.
Although there is no multiplayer in Deus, its awesome single player makes up for it. Yes, multiplayer would have been much appreciated, but we can't get everything we want.
In conclusion, Deus EX: Invisible War rocks. Single player is awesome, the game is HUGE, and the possibilities are endless. Even though it's a bit hard to get started, once you do, you'll never want to stop.
