Ghost Master

Ghost Master

Empire Interactive had a stroke of genius when they sat down to make their new game. Instead of making a boring old shooter, ordinary RTS, or a simple RPG, they thought of an excellent theme. Scaring people. Their idea went to good use, and Ghost Master is the proud product. In this comical yet tactical RTS game, you control a team of ghosts that carry out missions to try and scare mortals of all types.

Ghosts are Unique

Ghosts come from all walks of life; mobsters, electricians, beauticians, and even nerds. Every ghost has his own powers, and can inflict different terror upon mortals. By using a simple select and click menu, you can tell your ghosts which powers to perform, where to go, and even give them orders like 'Pick on Ted' or 'Only scare mortals when they are present.' In the 'Ghoul Room' powers can be purchased with gold plasam, money you receive after completing a mission. By using your ghosts more and more, they become better trained, and can eventually learn more complex orders. Using this as a base, Ghost Master has a real tactical edge to it; yet its comical gameplay is the real treat.

Detail Put into Maps

There are tons of different maps to play around with in Ghost Master. You will haunt mortals in ships,

Ghost Master

Texas chainsaw massacre like houses, sorority houses, and much more. Each room is detailed, and features full 3D interactive objects. Mortals will walk around their surroundings and even interact with objects they see, like pianos. The detail put into the maps really makes Ghost Master stand out.

Revisiting Old Maps

With the High Scares option, you can revisit any place that you have carried out a successful mission in. Revisiting a mission for old time's sake is not the only reason it is fun. There are restless spirits trapped inside every map, and with using the power of your ghosts, you can set them free. By setting a ghost free, he/she will join your team, and you can use him/her in further missions. So, if you complete a mission without setting some of the restless spirits free, you can always revisit that map so you can focus on unlocking that ghost to use in further missions. Since there are many ghosts to unlock, revisiting can be a fun thing to do once you beat the single player campaign, adding to the replay value of the game.

Intense Strategy and Planning

In every minute of Ghost Master, there are many surprises and twists that mortals will do to make the game more interesting. While most of your objectives are to scare an entire sorority away, or make someone believe in ghosts by scaring him to death, there are other objectives. One in particular was showing the mortals hidden corpses in their household. This mission had a huge strategy you needed to use, and everything had to be done in order. I will briefly explain. The first thing I had to do was use a ghost to make a room cold. The mortals noticed this temperature drop, and decided to turn on a fire. In the upper section of the house, the fire comes out of the fireplace, and makes the room all smoky. I use a ghost to attract attention to this room, and once a mortal comes upstairs and sees it, they call a repairman to come and fix it. Meanwhile, in the cellar, I use a ghost to make a brick fall, so the wall appears to be broken. The repairman arrives, looks at the smoke, and fixes the fireplace. A dead body from the chimney comes down, and the police are called. Another ghost attracts attention to the cellar, and the repairman comes down to find that the brick is gone. He tears down the wall, and there you go, another corpse hidden inside the walled in room. Strategies like this are fun to plan out, especially with the cool POV, view, and go to commands you can use.

Controlling Ghosts

For each ghost or mortal, you can click on their thumbnail and have a list of commands. 'POV' allows you to see whatever the ghost/mortal sees, all in movie like form.
