Ghost Master -page 2-
'View' gives you a cinematic view of whatever the ghost/mortal is doing, and you can watch them in this position to observe their behavior. 'Go to' centers your camera on the position of the ghost/mortal you select. These simple commands will help you find the perfect placement for your ghosts.
Aside from the perfect placement, you will have to decide which of your ghost's powers to use. Since some powers can lure humans into rooms and others can cause them to interact with their environment, you will have to learn how to strategically use your powers while staying within your plasam limit.
Plasam Band
You have a 'plasam' band at the top left of your screen. This bar indicates how much plasam you have remaining and how much you have in total. The more you scare people, the more amount of plasam you will be able to have. Once you place your ghosts in the field, your plasam will slowly go down unless you are busy scaring people. If the amount of plasam you are using exceeds the amount of plasam you have available, an alarm will go off. Until you cancel powers that ghosts are carrying out to lower your plasam usage, your game will end. I thought that this part of the game is stupid. It is similar to having the upkeep feature in Warcraft. It is not necessary, and it just makes the game less fun.
Binding to Objects is Restraining
Another stupid thing about the game is the binding feature. In order to let a ghost into the field, he needs to attach to his given 'fetter.' Fetters include things that fall under the following categories: Earth, Emotional, Electrical, Violence, Corpse and so on.
You have to find these objects within the map and then select your ghost, and 'bind' him to that object. Some ghosts can be put anywhere 'inside' or 'outside' the house structure. I think that if all ghosts had the ability to be put anywhere, the game would've been a lot more enjoyable. By being able to only bind your ghosts to certain objects, your scare tactics are limited.
A Hard Game
Did I mention that this game is hard? With all the strategies and powers involved, you will really need to think to carry out missions successfully. I hope most of you will be able to take this, because if not, you better go out and by a strategy guide.
No Multiplayer
The only other major complaint with Ghost Master is the lack of multiplayer. CO-OP like missions where you and friends have to work together to scare a household using a ghost team would have been a lot of fun. Too bad this mode wasn't included... Maybe in an expansion pack?
Overall
Ghost Master is in short a detailed tactical RTS. The idea is brilliant, the gameplay comical, and the game itself is easy to use. With only a few problems, Ghost Master delivers a great single player RTS experience.
