Trailer Park Tycoon
How would you like to be the owner of a nice little trailer park in the middle of nowhere? C'mon… just think about it… you can have your own stacks of newspapers, columns of tires, dirt holes, and even an old rusty playground. Well if this sounds like your calling, you might want to check out Trailer Park Tycoon.
Controlling a Trailer Park
This RTS game puts you in control of Trailer Park lots. You get to place an assortment of trailers, adjust rent prices, place different ornaments depending on resident's likes, and build different amenities to give your residents some fun. All of these things cost a certain amount of money, and in objective based missions, you are to earn a certain amount of money to win the game. You know, that old cookie.
Game Types
Besides being able to earn a certain amount of money in a span of time, other game types include fitting your community to resident's needs. There are 4 aspects of life that residents can favor: cool and old school, and trashy and flashy. Residents can have a combination of either cool/old school, and trashy/flashy. Depending on what this combination is, you can tailor a trailer to their likes. If somebody wants a cool rating of 3, and a trashy rating of 7 in their trailer, you would buy them an ornament with ratings similar to 3 cool and 7 trashy.
Different Ornaments to Use
The varied amount of ornaments allows you to easily cover this aspect of the game. All of the ornaments are different and interesting; old playgrounds, smiley face lawns, piles of timber, plastic and wooden outhouses, duck ponds, dog cages, construction supplies, and many, many more. Since the game is in full 3D, everything looks nice and detailed.
Building Amenities for your Hicks
The amenities you can build are also varied. In each mission, you will find places like Jim's Gym, Danny's restaurant, Cricket's Lounge, Hot Dog, and Money for Something. You can raise the amount of money it costs for a resident to use these facilities, but there will always be an upkeep cost that you will have to pay. Once again, the 3D graphics of the game allow the amenities to look detailed.
Customizing Trailers
Along with the different numbers of amenities and ornaments you can build, there are also a lot of options for trailers.
You can build hippie houses, redneck houses, dirty rat houses, power plants, basic trailers, and many other different themed houses. Each trailer has a different cool/old school, trashy/flashy value. You can also upgrade the basic trailers so they become bigger, have a larger range of rent, and become more of whatever value they are (if a trailer has 1 trashy and 1 old school, when it is upgraded it might be 3 trashy and 2 old school.) The trailers all look different; the non-basic trailers have cool looking props all around. Since there is a wide variety of the styles of trailers you can build, you can let your imagination flow.
