Let's be honest, don't we all tend to dream of nice cars, big houses, and money in general? And that, my friends, is what Vegas is for. It's a city that is based on luck, lights and lots of money. I have already gone to Vegas… and boy did I love it. When I was there I asked myself a lot of questions. What would it be like to own a Vegas Casino? What would I change about this Casino? Maybe put a huge water fountain in the center of the casino. Or maybe have statues around the fountain, or a palm tree. Something that would make my Casino better and more attractive than that of the competition. I need something that is bigger than anything else on the block. Something that is bright, so bright that no one will be able to walk away. Because of these reasons, I was the first to volunteer to review Vega$ Tycoon when it came in the mail from Global Star Software.              

Designing Your Outside lot

You start out by buying a lot on a Vegas Strip. I always try to pick a lot that is not too close to another big Casino, as I will be competing with every other lot on the strip. In order to succeed you need to first make the lot attractive from the outside. Give it something that catches the eye of gamblers. This is where you get to be creative. You can take a more botanical look and build plants and trees, or a more structured look by using beautiful statues and big street signs. The level of customization is so great that you can sit for hours just trying to make your lot look perfect.

Building the Inside of Your Casino

Don't think the lot is the only part where you can get creative. First of all, you can build different sizes and styles of Casinos. Once you choose the one that fits your lots design you have the option to decorate the casino manually or to buy a pre-customized casino at many different cost levels.

Depending on which option you choose, your casino can be richly decorated with beautiful statues and fountains or if you choose a lower cost option, you will get a casino outfitted with cheaper decorations and games. If you want to make your casino manually, get ready for a plethora of options. You need to understand that there are many different people with different social statuses. There are families who come to your casinos, who might not play at the high bet tables; instead they play at the slot machines. The social status goes from campers to celebrities, all of which have a different range of spending. You can attract specific celebrities by catering to their needs. A helipad is always a good thing to have to attract important figures. It's important to strategize on the different bid prices of your game tables so you can make sure to attract both low paying costumers and higher bidders. If you get the wrong combination of prices, you won't get enough money because people will feel that your casino is either too expensive or too cheap.

Buildings aside from Casinos

Not only can you build casinos in Vegas, but you can also build different buildings to bring in more revenue. This includes movie theaters, restaurants, bars, gymnasiums, museums, night clubs, stores, and much more. The more buildings you get on your lot, the more money you can make and people you can attract. Each building has its own set of options that you can tweak. You can get very serious with this, or just leave it at the defaults.

How Your Casino is Rated

To make Vega$ more of a strategy game, your lot will be rated on different aspects. The better the rating, the more money you will receive and the more customers you will attract. You can have a rating on your overall appearance, cleanliness, how loud your lot is, if there are enough places to rest, and many more aspects. If you are very serious about playing, these are the things you are going to try and achieve.
